Nepal’s Premier Mountain Biking Event
Pokhara Enduro (often referred to as PokDuro) has established itself as the gold standard for enduro mountain biking in the Himalayas. Bringing together world-class athletes, highly technical descents, and the awe-inspiring backdrop of the Annapurna mountain range, the event has firmly planted Nepal on the global mountain biking map.
The Co-Founders & Visionaries

The scale and success of Pokhara Enduro are driven by the combined expertise of its three Co-Founders:
- Sunil Chandra Sharma (Race Director): The visionary orchestrator responsible for the competitive architecture, trail oversight, and the high-octane race execution that satisfies both local talents and international pros.
- Chhimi Urkyen Gurung (Overall Coordinator): Widely recognised as the pioneer of mountain biking in Nepal, Chhimi brings decades of unparalleled industry insight, local authority, and logistical coordination to the forefront of the event.
- Shailesh Man Joshi aka Smjrifle (Technical Lead & Administration): Alongside executive logistical and administrative duties, Shailesh architected the complete digital hybrid-platform capable of handling international scale, strict data management, and operational security.
Technical Backbone & Digital Ecosystem
This digital hub doesn’t just process registrations; it acts as a window into the Himalayas. It features dedicated Trail Maps so riders can study the 6 distinct race stages beforehand, alongside extensive Photo and Video Galleries that capture the raw Himalayan trails, podium moments, and the vibrant local culture—allowing the global mountain biking community to experience the energy of PokDuro from anywhere in the world.
Technical Backbone, SEO & Multi-Currency Payments To manage hundreds of riders, volunteers, and multi-day race logistics efficiently, the platform is built entirely on a robust WordPress architecture. Stripped of unnecessary complexity, the digital ecosystem is heavily optimized for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), ensuring maximum global visibility and perfectly structuring event data for AI assistants.
A major technical achievement of the platform is its frictionless, multi-currency payment gateway. To seamlessly handle both international and domestic registrations, the system integrates:
Local QR Payments: Direct digital wallet and mobile banking integrations in NPR, allowing Nepalese riders and expats to register effortlessly using familiar local payment networks.
Stripe Integration: Ensuring highly secure, PCI-compliant credit card processing in USD for international athletes.

Scaling for Global Impact
Powered in partnership with Basistech, the digital infrastructure operates flawlessly under the immense pressure of international web traffic peaks during race seasons, allowing the core team to focus entirely on delivering a world-class race experience on the ground.
