Steve Jobs had once said ‘the only way to do great work is to love what you do’. We all know what he had accomplished. I am not a fan of the product he created history with; not an iphone admirer, but I have utmost respect for him. He always knew what he wanted and loved doing it. How important is loving your work?? Is It some task to be completed so you can earn inner satisfaction or is it for a living? It may be for both but there is no point taking pressure of work when you can enjoy it?
I consider small lines of codes as an achievement which when completed takes me to the next level. I feel adventure in searching solution for problems, and finding hidden bugs and killing them to unlock new trophies. I cannot do something that I can’t enjoy, I need the freedom to be crazy and I love playing around with ideas, and that’s the time when I plan my work. The open environment, conversations, music, opens up a new set of ideas and plans to do those small hacks. This is possible because I love what I do, and I know how to enjoy it. There are times when pressures and deadlines exert me to the fullest but I always consider that as a challenge and look to thrive under it.
For me, life is all about enjoying and living, and work is something you do almost everyday and if you don’t love it, you are living a dull and world full of complaints. However, if you learn to love your work and find that happiness while doing it, you are always ready for the next step. This also increases your productivity and you will improve yourself, if you just do something just for the doing it, you will never know the meaning of life. You spend hours of your life doing your routine work, so make sure you love it first, else be doing something else. Do something you love and you won’t have to work a day in your life.
